Soulforce Equality Ride PR Coordinator, March 2012 – May 2012. On a nationwide two month social justice bus tour advocating for the freedom of LGBTQ people and their allies from political and spiritual oppression. I’m working as a vital link of communication and liaison between the “riders” on the ground and the consulting PR firm in D.C. During my time on the road I write press releases, media advisories, and edit press material. I compile media lists, contact media, photograph and take video of events and demonstrations, and help run the social media. As a “rider” I help facilitate dialogue around issues of discriminatory policies and approach oppression from an intersectional lens. I participate in the direct action, conversations, service, and activism alongside the other riders.
